I’m Willie Cashmore, an Area Representative with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, serving several schools in the Des Moines area. Before joining FCA in April 2024, I spent 14 years as a college football coach. I’m blessed to be married to Kara, and together we have three wonderful kids.

I grew up with a passion for sports that led to both playing and coaching college football. After an awesome 14 year college football coaching career (Iowa Western CC & Drake University), I felt drawn to something new. While exploring the possibly of several different career paths, FCA’s vision to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes struck me. My passion for people and my experience as a coach fit perfectly into the growing Central Iowa FCA team.
I was raised in a loving Christian home, yet left my belief behind when I went off to college.
After a decade away, I made my faith in Jesus my own and have been growing towards him since. I’m so thankful to be married to my college sweetheart Kara and blessed to be raising three kids in West Des Moines, IA.
I'm grateful to be serving in several communities in Central Iowa. I serve DM Lincoln, Norwalk & Carlisle on the southside of Des Moines and Waukee, Waukee Northwest & WDM Valley in the western suburbs of Des Moines.
